Hi All

Our 28th exhibition and craft sale will be

 

At

Ipswich High School Woolverstone

(on B1456 - IP9 1AZ)

 on

26^th & 27^th October 2013

10am – 4pm

Free parking 

Refreshments - lots of lovely cakes teas and coffees plus sandwiches and rolls  

We will have a wider range of  items for sale as we have expanded our membership greatly and of course we will have various guest exhibitors 

The format takes the form of an Exhibition Room where a selection of the very best items are displayed  - complete with catalogue 

We shall also have a separate Sales Room in which the majority of items are displayed for sale 

Like last year this will be set up in various 'departments' to make your selection of purchases easier. 

There will be a dedicated 

Children's section a wide variety of soft toys and baby toddler quilts

Christmas Area with tree decorations, wall hangings, stockings, and all things Christmas

Men's and Women's gifts

Items for house and home - fabric, wood, wool, ceramic

Furniture for home and garden  in Oak other local woods

Bowls  and platters - wooden, fabric, ceramic

Clocks, goblets - ceramic and wood

Pepper Mills in wood and with silver embellishment

Quilts - single, double, queen and king sized

Fashion - jackets, sweaters, tunics in wools and cottons

Accessories - scarves, wrist-warmers, slippers, bags in fabric and wools

Jewelery  - Silver, beading, needle-weaving, chain-mail, wood and ceramic

In addition we shall have a dedicated demonstration area where you can meet various artists and artisans and see how it is all done 

There is plenty of help at hand and if you do not see what you want please do ASK as we will have many things held in reserve as we can not have everything on display !

This year we have new members bring new crafts and skills, to add depth and breadth to what we will have on display - new ceramics, jewellery, felted goods, hand made chairs and stools, oak outdoor furniture, new pen and ink cards, graphic art, and textile art and quilts ... plus lots more

Plus of course the Guest Exhibitors which will include we hope very popular regulars plus a selection of new crafters.

Plus thank you to all our customers who came to our Spring Show at The Shipwreck this spring - we thank you for making it a great success and very enjoyable not only for all the crafts people there but from the feedback all of you enjoyed not only the selection of things for sale but meeting the artisans and seeing how its all done.

This year we will not only have a ‘Sale Room’ offering a wide range of craft items for sale; but also a dedicated ‘Working Exhibition Room’  where our members will offer demonstrations and individual displays showing a sample of their crafts and how they achieve those results (including where things have gone wrong – which can be fun to see)

All of this is in the rooms above the Shipwreck bar and restaurant – these rooms are accessible by the stairs inside from reception and from outside via two stairwells in the garden and at the side

Exhibition this weekend at Wolverstone 26-27 Oct - Sale Room

A selection of items on offer in our Sale Hall 

The items are displayed according to themes -to make it easier for customers to choose items to purchase. 

So all the jewelry by members and guest exhibitors are grouped together - to make it just that much easier to select that right piece! Similarly all the sculptures and ceramic art works are on a grouped together. 

Soft furnishings quilts and throws are on the end tables at the back of Orangery with quilts displayed hanging behind 

The central tables a re filled with all things Christmas - felt , metal and fabric ornaments for the tree, cards, miniature Christmas trees in wood and metal sculpture 

The tree to the side of the hall has a wide variety of decorations hanging on the tree to purchase with a display below of children's gifts including toys and art aprons,stockings, and advent calenders 

So there is a wide range of items on display for people to see and we hope be tempted to buy!

Exhibition set up!!

Well despite several key members being very ill today we finally managed to get it all together.......

So get well wishes to Mark & Linda!

Hope you both make a speedy recovery!

Photos will be posted tomorrow - everyone was too exhausted to go round and take pics at the end of the day

The Exhibition Room was set up by the valiant efforts of Peta-Jane and our new member Karen
The Sale Room was organised by Anne-Marie, Sue and Lynn
So both teams managed to create some stunning displays out of absolute chaos.

Many thanks to Chris for all his efforts carrying things back and forth and of course our thanks to all who helped in their many ways!

Our thanks to all guest exhibitors for turning up - all packed with their lists and getting everything into the right rooms - such a well behaved bunch who followed instructions to the letter - makes life so much easier

Jim Nind has set up his interactive display in the grounds behind the Orangery

This has a stunning backdrop of the high school grounds and the river valley

So do go and look at it - interact and have fun - that's the idea - All we need is good weather so you can go out and enjoy it!

So now all we can do is hope the exhibition is well attended and that people enjoy it all - and of course buy some goodies to take home as gifts or friends and family

Peninsula Craft Member - sneak preview .................

Lynn Dyson-Bruce 

will be exhibiting three new bags - along with various new jackets and even some felted hats! 

These will be in addition to her popular range of fashion items to wear or unique items for the home - which includes her signature 'Dragon Tail' scarves 

Her work has been sent to the USA, New Zealand, Australia and Italy 

Now its quite an achievement to sell a bag to Italy and country renowned for handbags .......

Hand crocheted and felted bag 

The body of the bag is in felted pure Aran wool with felted Shetland wool flowers and leaves - to be lined with Burberry silk in a hot pinnk

Midnight Roses 

Hand crocheted and felted bag 

The body of the bag is in felted Aran wool embellished with 3D felted roses with leaves and curlicues 

Each rose has additional vintage Jaeger silk-mohair in the teal with bronze which gives a subtle glow to the flowers. 

To be lined 

City Squares 

A chunky felted bag in a geometric pattern - because not everyone likes flowers! 

Lots of cushioning for that precious tablet/laptop. 

She specialises in custom made items on commission - where customers can select the yarns they wish and design in the case of garments this may involve three fittings to ensure a perfectly tailor-made garment

Each order requires on average a 4 - 6 weeks to create - unless needed for a special function

Stop Press - Mary Wyatt Update!

Mary Wyatt has been a  regular and successful guest exhibitor over the past years. Her sculptural ceramic art is well collected and sought after by many. he has exhibited widely over the area. Mary was a regular exhibitor at the Reunion Gallery in Felixstowe

She is, along with her husband the organiser for the 'Art on The Prom' exhibition on the sea front in Felixstowe every September. This year they did a trial preview at The Triangle in the middle of town - and you can see what you missed here: Art on The Prom - August 2013

She also sculpts some funky cows and she did have a juggling man and she does lots of small hand holdable birds - its all very tactile! In addition she has made  a series based on the shore - so all nautical pieces

So the best thing is to come and have a look!
